Grandma and PawPaw; Granni and Grandpa
Let me introduce you to four, wonderfully amazing, hard-working, fun, fiercely loving, young-at-heart people.
As a kid growing up, I was extremely blessed to live so close to my grandparents. Grandma and PawPaw are my Mom’s parents and Granni and Grandpa are my Dad’s parents. Seriously, they both lived within 10 minutes of me and I usually got to see them all weekly while growing up. One of the greatest blessings and memories I have growing up, was summer vacation with my grandparents. You see, one summer Grandma and PawPaw would take me on vacation (usually with my older cousin Kelsey) and then the next summer, Granni and Grandpa would take me somewhere (on my own, till my little sister got old enough to go). This went on almost every summer for a lot of my childhood. No parents allowed (except one Disney trip) just me and my grandparents. In my opinion, there are few things in life like the love of a grandparent. The feeling of being so loved and important to someone (and getting to do all the things your parents wouldn’t let you do)…. All the feels!
I have SO MANY memories from these trips; like when I ate 10 pork chops for dinner at a Colorado hotel buffet and my Grandpa was so happy he only had to pay once for me; or when we went through the car wash after a trip to the coast and I forgot to shut my door all the way, you can imagine who got soaked; or the time all my Grandma wanted was a chocolate Frostee from Wendy’s and they ran out right as we got to the window; or when I got car sick on a scenic tour my PawPaw just had to take on the way to the Grand Canyon, I threw up the whole time at the canyon and well, let’s just say I’ll need to go back and actually see it in person again; or one trip I met a friend and she became my pen pal for the summer, do kids even know what that is anymore; another trip my Grandpa swam with me in the hotel pool EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and I thought he had to be the absolute most coolest Grandpa on earth; or that time my Granni rode on a sled down a sand dune in White Sands New Mexico, and she didn’t even mess up one hair on her head! I could seriously go on and on, I have a million wonderful memories of these four people!

When I think about why I love to travel and what sparked this love from an early age, I can think of four people... Grandma, PawPaw, Granni and Grandpa… thank you for creating a lifetime of memories and a desire, early on, to create more!
Ohhhhh and…. Want to know what’s cool….. Doc Whiskers got to do the same thing with Nannie and Po (his Mom's parents), and Mo and Papa (his Dad's parents) growing up. Y’all…..could there have been a cuter little boy growing up in the 80’s? I think NOT!
